Wow, that's awesome! Brings back lots of great 80's era memories. Back then, and for EVERY decade before, the music, the lyrics, and the performers that gave it to us were real.

It's such a shame that today's youth has to listen to such garbage, without knowing how bad it really is. Bands that are formed by marketers, not real musicians with real musical talents. Songs that all sound the same, or worse yet, songs that are "sampled" from other artists. Where are the music skills there?

Name me one new band today that has the staying power of REAL bands like U2, Rolling Stones, R.E.M., Pink Floyd, The Police, Rush, etc. REAL bands, with REAL TALENT, that have been performing for 20+ years all with the SAME EXACT lineup. Name me ONE band from the 2000's that will be able to say this 20 years from now.

Today's "artists" and their managers only care about the money. They release and market anything, even it is has absolutely no musical or lyrical variety or value. The lineup of today's band is like a revolving door. So sad.

Don't even get me started with rap or hip-hop. Such crap. Those no-talent, poser, real musician wannabes should be shot. Oh wait...they are. Losers.

Darn, I miss the past decades of real music!

You are so right! The excuse for "music" that comes out today is utter crap! I also feel sorry for this generation and future generations. Who is their Billy Joel, their Eric Clapton, their Bruce Springsteen or their Eagles, U2, REM, Bon Jovi, etc., etc.?? Today's musicians, if they even can call themselves that, have no true talents, no staying power, no real creative musical abilities. I think this trend to boring, bland, no-talent "music" started in the mid-late 1990s and I am convinced that it will NEVER change. There is too much marketing, merchandising and money involved today, whereas REAL artists from the past only cared about making music, first and foremost. Once all the past true musical greats die off, future generations will be unable to replace them. Such a sad shame.

I spent way too much time admiring the beautiful lables and the variosu genres and types of music in your collection of tapes. Wow, that brought back some memories as I quickly started thinking, "yeah, I have that one, or had that one" - thanks. Your handwriting and lettering was very good where you sometimes went original or mimicked the original, very cool.

Im impressed you put more effort into tapes than i thought were possible - totally eclipsing my pale weak and inferior creative tapes output decade.

I disagree with the notion that "today's music sucks." You're just not looking hard enough. Every decade in recent memory has had its watered-down radio tripe with the better stuff lurking beneath the surface.

Today we have genres with subgenre upon subgenre, giving us more variety than ever before. Music is getting better, even if you don't like what's on the radio.
