The person above me doesnt believe in beauty.

edit - remove - report - save #5 - by Anonymous Jul 12, 2009

Wow, all of those look amazing!

edit - remove - report - save #6 - by Anonymous Jul 12, 2009

it's definitely photoshopped, you can tell by looking at the pixels

edit - remove - report - save #7 - by sullsal (0JZxjSWbOY) - Jul 12, 2009

gimmeee an effin break, who cares if it's photoshopped? You dolts need to leave your computers and go outside there are wonders all around us!

edit - remove - report - save #8 - by jonny Jul 12, 2009

Is that photoshopped? I saw something ostentatious at www.oakleafmarket.com, which reminds me of it!

edit - remove - report - save #9 - by nicholas (QkO1sgFXdY) - Jul 12, 2009

earth kicks ass.

edit - remove - report - save #10 - by Anonymous Jul 12, 2009

Even if they are photoshopped, the odds are any changes are miniscule. You'd be amazed at the things you can capture with just different lenses and techniques of photography.

edit - remove - report - save #11 - by Anonymous Jul 12, 2009

Yep its photoshopped, I mean would you just look at them pixels

edit - remove - report - save #12 - by Anonymous Jul 12, 2009

Does it matter if it is photoshopped or not? The point is that there are things that beautiful in the world around us. It may be hard to capture it looking that good, but with the atmosphere, and the reality of actually being there, I think it would be ten times more beautiful than these pictures.
I mean I got this pic, and it isn't photoshopped.

edit - remove - report - save #13 - by Scat R. Brane (6J9LK7iCjQ) - Jul 12, 2009

Well, what is the problem if Photoshop is used?

A photograph is just one way of depicting reality. You can draw, paint, model in a 3d program and so on.

Merely making a 2d picture of reality as it is seen is always an abstraction and always artificial.
If you find the results here too artificial, too much eye candy, fine. That is your opinion.

But please don't stagger on whether or not the picture is photoshopped. It is just a tool. You don't care if a tripod is used, do you.
The way it sounds now is that photoshopping means the result is no longer valid for some reason and that is nonsense.
It is true that PS is a powerful tool, you can totally alter an image. But that can be done in many other ways as well.
What counts is what the results do. What do they mean to you?

edit - remove - report - save #14 - by Anonymous Jul 12, 2009

Yeah but photoshop has been used here though hasnt it theres no getting away from that is there. These are shopped. Full stop.

edit - remove - report - save #15 - by Anonymous Jul 12, 2009

most shopped pics I've ever seen, i mean, come on... its obvious this is the work of photoshop, and i must add its a lazy work btw... just look at them damn pixels!! and the shadows are all wrong!!

I give this shops a 2 out of 5.

edit - remove - report - save #16 - by that one chic (U2BI6.rcTg) - Jul 12, 2009

ya they definitely photo shopped, esp. 3rd from bottom. It looks surreal, almost looks painted. No doubt about photo shop use but I still consider it art and I would still hang it on my wall. everyone is really going off about this photoshop thing, I'd care if they claimed it wasn't or called it photography. However, no where on this page does it say it's not photo shopped. So.... yep its photo shopped,, no shit sherloc, what about it?

edit - remove - report - save #17 - by Anonymous Jul 13, 2009

totally shopped. i give this batch a 1 out of a -5 to 5 scale.

edit - remove - report - save #18 - by Anonymous Jul 13, 2009

I personally don't care if it's photo shopped or not, they're beautiful pictures.

edit - remove - report - save #19 - by Anonymous Jul 13, 2009

Trolling is a leifschteil

edit - remove - report - save #20 - by Anonymous Jul 13, 2009

oblivion is better.... haha jk

edit - remove - report - save #21 - by Cameron Jul 13, 2009

It's called HDR. 5 different exposeures to bring out more dynamic range, and then polished in photoshop...But who cares, it's a form of art. And it's beautiful. For all of those who are hung up that it isn't just a simple picture, who cares??

edit - remove - report - save #22 - by Anonymous Jul 13, 2009

nothing to comment! just praise the nature

edit - remove - report - save #23 - by Anonymous Jul 13, 2009

It is what it is. Can't it just be viewed the way it was intended to be viewed. Just a thought!

edit - remove - report - save #24 - by Anonymous Jul 13, 2009

hmmmmmmm sure is photoshopped in here

edit - remove - report - save #25 - by Anonymous Jul 13, 2009

if it was viewed how nature intended it, most wouldnt even be pictures.. the shutters, lenses, and even peoples techniques make these pictures what they are.. the photoshopping only brings out a better feeling in the picture so that its more dramatic.. so shut up all you computer fags who think photoshopping ruins pictures.. you're ruining your life being hung up on that shit.

edit - remove - report - save #26 - by Anonymous Jul 13, 2009

Oh, duh... did he give the negative an extra %of developement time? oh, did he dodge the print? oh, did he burn in the corners? Oh, did he double-print it in the darkroom? Oh, did he use an automatic exposure setting? Oh, did he use an autofocus lens? Duh, that aint real photography.

What's wrong with you people?

edit - remove - report - save #27 - by Anonymous Jul 13, 2009

im going to have to agree with the above comment. these pictures are beautiful but you can tell easily that they are waay to doctored up to be anything near as real as the honest picture.
thank you

edit - remove - report - save #28 - by Gardenimal Jul 13, 2009

There was a pixel on the left of photo two that proves beyond any doubt, that what we are looking at is none other than Photoshop

edit - remove - report - save #29 - by Lee K-U (8LtljkRQhU) - Jul 14, 2009

you guys over analyze things way too much. who cares if they are shopped or not, just enjoy the pictures.

edit - remove - report - save #30 - by Anonymous Jul 14, 2009

The Photoshop crap was old the first time someone cried "photoshopped!" The people who are seriously screeching about it here obviously know nothing about HDR photography...or photography in general. Photographers routinely use software and other things to make the photograph look better. You'd be hard pressed to find a picture that hasn't been enhanced in some way. The photographs here are great, and if you think you can do better without any enhancements whatsoever, start snapping and put up your own site to show your work. Until then, quit griping.

that's my comment up there you know. :)

edit - remove - report - save #36 - by Anonymous Jul 16, 2009

You know, who the fuck cares if the pics are photoshopped? It's getting so that every time an image is put on the net, some whiny-assed photo EXPERT is jumping up and down, pointing fingers and yelling "photoshopped, photoshopped". If you're such a G-damned expert, why don't you go take some "real" pics and put them on the net for everybody to say they're photoshopped.

edit - remove - report - save #37 - by Anonymous Jul 16, 2009

I can tell this is shooped, for I have seen many a shoops in my time. How is it? pixels, etc.

yep they're definitely made up of a collection of pixels....they're on the internet after all so there's thousands of them.

beautiful pics

edit - remove - report - save #41 - by Anonymous Jul 17, 2009

LOL some people can never be happy. The pictures should remind us of how fragile our home is and its' beauty, a product of millions of years, is now under the sole control of humans. PS is a tool...just as photography, it's our vain attempt at capturing nature.

Using photoshop is just an extension to photography. It is also part of making artwork.
Also.. these are taken by different people! Can't you see that the ones with names have different names?!? You people don't know anything about photography. It may matter when you see a pic of a hot chick if she was photoshopped to be "enhanced" in certain ways.. but this is totally different. It's not like people photoshop to increase the size of trees or anything.. just to make it a more interesting and appealing image.

yea photoshop makes my nipples hard but that doesnt mean i cant still get wet from the overall beauty of the images.

the internet is just unbelievable... in one second I'm looking in amazement at some really beautfull photography work... and in other i get pissed by seeing bunch of idiots, who have no better thing to do in their life, but to go around and scream that something is photoshoped!
for the love of everything worthy in this world, next time you want to post such a comment, please unplug your keyboards first!

edit - remove - report - save #47 - by GTFO (6AMh5M.C7Q) - Jul 18, 2009

you people are morons. yeah they might have some color adjustment and a few filters thrown on but most of you have no fucking idea what you are talking about.

edit - remove - report - save #48 - by Anonymous Jul 18, 2009

"Yep its photoshopped, I mean would you just look at them pixels"

SRSLY d00D!!! JUST LOOK, THERE ARE FUCKING PIXELS EVERYWHERE.

jackass.

edit - remove - report - save #49 - by Anonymous Jul 19, 2009

Neutral density filters? Stackable filters? HDR? Long Exposures? Wide Lenses? I would suggest looking those up... and yes even if they are photoshopped they are beautiful...

edit - remove - report - save #50 - by Anonymous Jul 19, 2009

Ha Ha Ha . You are all so dumb ! Everyone knows all pixels are 'shopped and thus invalid as forms of art. If you have a problem with this FACT I suggest you take it up with God and his Bible. I pray nightly for your redemption .

edit - remove - report - save #51 - by Anonymous Jul 19, 2009

the problem with photoshop is, it has taught people (me, anyway) not to trust their own eyes. These are absolutely beautiful pictures, no doubt about it...but they don't depict reality. Call it art-photography or altered photography, but if it has been shopped (and maybe not, is that a possibility?) don't depict it as just "photographs" Then we can view it as intended: as art, with the artist's interpretation making it what it is.

edit - remove - report - save #52 - by Anonymous Jul 21, 2009

almost every photo ever professionally published has been touched by photoshop in some way. doesn't mean its fake, only trying to make it as good as it looks when your actually capturing the beauty with your own eyes

edit - remove - report - save #53 - by Anonymous Jul 24, 2009

To the person above me: LOL you have got to be kidding me. Why should it be called art-photography or altered photography instead of just photographs? ALL photography is a form of art and ALL photographs (especially when they are done professionally) are altered in some form. Before the days of photoshop did you trust your own eyes when looking at models and celebrities on magazine covers? Or did you assume all those people are naturally flawless?

Please, people, get over yourself and the pseudo-intellectual babble.

edit - remove - report - save #54 - by Anonymous Jul 24, 2009

I bet a lot of the Anonymous responses that are degrading these photos are one in the same person, just trying to make it "seem" there are other ppl that agree.
I think ALL of these photos are amazing with or without it. There is NO sure way that you can ever get nature to post the same picture, it's the random/unique ways that make it beautiful.
Id like to see their pictures..if not stfu!

edit - remove - report - save #55 - by Anonymous Jul 24, 2009

Friggin HILARIOUS! Clearly, NONE of these people sqealing "oooh - Photoshop, Photoshop" ever saw professional photography when Photoshop did not exist - ALL of these wonderful photos would have looked right at home along side those masterful photos of days gone by.... Oh, yeah, in those days the DARK ROOM was a fine Photoshop substitute and much time was spent on every inch of every image - Oh Noooes! LOL

edit - remove - report - save #56 - by spektyr (u8TMO2vuR6) - Jul 26, 2009

Is there really any need to try and devalue another's work as to say that it is "shopped." These people actually went out and took the photos, not to please you, but to capture a unique moment in time. There is nothing else to it. Why not yell, "shopped" when you see a girl wearing make-up on the street. All they are guilty of is attempting to further beautify themselves. You'd probably compliment them if anything, so explain to me what the difference is.

edit - remove - report - save #57 - by Anonymous Sep 30, 2009

Who cares how the images were 'processed'. What makes a photo artistic is the composition of the image, which includes the angle of view and the way objects are placed within the frame. All of these images are good but some are much better than others. I especially like the images with interesting cloud formations. The one labeled 'Montenegro Still, Winter 2008' is beautiful in it's simplicity. In the 15th image the fog and coloring gives the scene a dreamy quality I quite like. The black & white image by Audry Ivanov with the sun shining through the nude tree and the sparkles in the virgin snow is another simple yet artistic image. I can go on and on commenting on these images but I think most people would see my point by now. The content of the image is what's important, not any post processing that may have been done on it. Just putting in my two cents. -)
