The four Spanish students from the IES La Bisbal school of Catalonia have sent a camera to the stratosphere at a distance of 20 miles above the earth to take beautiful photos you’ll see after the jump.
It may seem very simple: a $77 digital camera Nikon Coolpix, a $60 latex balloon filled with helium, a few calculations and hop, you have great photos without using super expensive NASA equipment.
In truth, it was more complicated than that. But the idea is good and moreover, it was successful.
In bottom of the page, you will find links to flickr and the site (in Catalan) of these students for more details.

Remember the guy who got to about twenty three thousand feet in his lawn chair? He offed himself..I guess everything was anitclimactic after that roll..he used a BB gun to deflate the balloons..these pictures serve as a handy perspective altertaion device..
