I think this person should have been nicer about the sign. Gas stations are usually owned by immigrants who work very hard and are usually still learning english. One of the hardest things about our language is subject-verb agreement, proper tense and plurals.
That is not to say we have to put up with poor English skills. The person could have gone in and explained what the proper wording of the sign should be. That way the owner would have a better sign on his property and learn a little bit of proper English in the process. I know when I was learning foreign languages (Italian and Spanish) I was never embarassed or offended when someone corrected me. It was helpul, as I wanted to be able to speak and write like the locals. They also have a right not to have their language butchered.
Cut the owner some slack. They are probably a hard working person who came here to improve their life. We could do worse as a country. Much worse.
Awwhhh, i bet whoever wrote this sign failed school... hence why they're working in a petrol station, an this FAIL gave them a blast from their horricly dissapointing past, an they cried for the rest of the day.
